if you want to keep villagers from wearing the shirts in the able sisters' shop, change all the custom clothing items to umbrellas and then they won't be able to wear them anymore! i cycled for ages before i learned this trick and i was so glad when i figured it out bc all the villagers wanted to wear either that stupid white shirt or the orange one and it was so frustrating omg. good luck though!
