i had audie early but traded her away. she was cute but i like raymond more and i'm not a big fan of the wolves but she's probably the coolest wolf imo

I have Audie, she was one of my first villagers to move in so I can't really say anything about how her house looks since she's got all the basic furniture, but she has a super cute island aesthetic, the outfit she wears (especially her sunglasses imo) are so adorable and tropical. Even though I think she's cute, I can't help but think she's a bit overrated, and peppies aren't usually my favorite villagers anyway. I will say, her look is one of the more tolerable of peppies. When I think about Apple, Chrissy, and other peppy villagers with the massive, sparkly eyes I just get a little creeped out, but Audie is much more natural(?) looking, not as over-the-top-cute

Audie fits the best on tropical themed islands as she's very tropical like from her get up to her house! If you're into that then get her, her hobby is fitness so you'll usually see her walking around in her workout clothes and sunglasses which is kinda a turn off for some people but to me it's cool, like she getting more fit than my jocks lol

My Smug is Marshal. Like so many, he is one of my favorites.

I let go of my original Peppy, with her original house, Bonbon. And then I went on Nook Miles Island. I made about 20 attempts to get Audie. Unfortunately, it kept throwing me a mix of Villager Personality Categories. I figured, right then, the game really manipulates.

The islanders I have, who have their original homes, are my starting Jock Teddy; starting Uchi Katt; and original Lazy Erik. I am going to make some changes.

I heard the Mystery Islands are more likely to give you species that you currently don’t have on your island, personality doesn’t play a factor.
Campsites will cycle through villagers with personalities you are missing on your island.

I have both currently. I've had Audie for a while now. I like her design and house a lot. Like others have mentioned, she works out a lot (fitness is her hobby), and she doesn't really fit the peppy personality as naturally as some other peppy villagers. That said, I still really like having her on my island.

I just got Raymond last week when he showed up at my campsite. I'm not a big fan of the smug personality, but I like him so far. I don't really like his house as much - I need to gift him a music player and a chair he can actually sit on.

With both, it's just about setting realistic expectations. There's a lot to like about them, but at the end of the day, they're not technically different or more special than any of the other peppy/smug villagers.

I agree, a lot of the villagers of a particular personality type have the same catchphrases with slightly differing dialogue. So it really comes down to your personally preference on how certain villagers look or fit your island aesthetic.

I have both Audie and Raymond and really enjoyed them so far. I love that Audie has a cool backstory and love her bright color palette. Although I admit Raymond is a bit overhyped, he is quite adorable. He seems a little less common compared to Marshal too since you can’t amiibo him.

For Mystery Island Tours, the game randomly selects a species and then selects a villager within that species. So that makes sense you were seeing all personality types - the personality type chosen is completely random.

Ignore what I said earlier that it’s more likely to select species you currently don’t have on your island. It’s complete RNG, you have 1/35 chance of since there are 35 species in the game. Sorry for misspeaking before!

Audie was one of my first five villagers! I didn't care for her at first, but she eventually grew on me. Lifting is my main form of exercise and I love seeing her doing curls with the huge dumbbell. Her dialogue cracks me up sometimes because some of the things she says reminds me of my teenage sister.

This is the moment that turned her into a permanent resident for me:

Audie is pretty great, I found myself rolling my eyes less than I do with most peppys but she doesn't feel super peppy? I gave her up because 3wolves was a bit much and I enjoy rabbit peppys more. I never really viewed her as a fox? I know thats her coloring but she's so bright vs Chief.
She was at max friendship for a while but never got her pick. She was constantly wanting to move.

Raymond. I like Raymond actually. Sometimes I want to swap him for Marshal but then I talk to him and change my mind. He's pretty chill. He pings me a lot too. Plus its cute to give him other glasses to wear. His hobby is play and usually he is chasing bugs honestly.

I'm glad I got to try them out.

I don't think you see villagers on islands if you have a full villager list, and the one that will visit your campsite I think is like a percentage based on days -- maybe.

i LOVE audie, she is such a doll and i feel like she's me in villager form lol. she's not annoying like some other peppys, and agree with others that she's a 10/10 on design, house, and name origin.
raymond is cute. he's definitely overhyped. but he's really unique and well-designed and i like him for personal reasons so he's staying!

I have Raymond and he's pretty cool even though he's overrated.
He grew on me after he moved in as my first camper.

I love Audie but I also really like Flora, and Flora doesn't have the fitness hobby. I think it's not a problem and even cool that Audie is the fitness queen but I recommend to have a Jock that doesn't have this hobby too on your island because it's a little too much for me.

And Raymond is unique and all, but I already have too many cats and want Kyle as my smug.

Raymond is awesome in my opinion, but you might not dig his house interior if you're not into offices. And no, my views of him are not shaped by how popular he is, but from my personal experience. Also for some reason, he really likes watering flowers and sniffing them.

All my villagers have personalized yards. For Raymond I felt the need to give him an outdoor living room/dining room and include a lounger for napping!

I mean Raymond is adorable, what more is there to say. I love his cute little wave as you walk out of the house. I mean they all have that but Raymond seems to have added sparkle to his. I have a few smugs so the personality doesn't bother me plus if you put the work in there is a lot of love coming back. We gifted him a pet bed , he sat in and my heart melted. My mum who's island Raymond currently resides on isn't really a big fan but I think again she prefers the cutesy peppy personalities.

I love Audie! She fits the island theme perfectly and is a little ray of sunshine. Raymond's great but didn't fit the island aesthetic so I gave him away.

I had Audie and didn't click with her at all so I ended up selling her the first time and giving her away to my friends the other times

Raymond on the other hand, I LOVE him
