I'd rather Globox was playable. He's my favourite Rayman, uh, thing. ~flaps arms wildly while huffing and inflating~

I'm leaning towards this being real. Mostly because it's 2 new character models, that look believable. And this looks to me like clearer images than we got with the true leaks last year with B' Jr. and Duck hunt.

Still could be fake, but feels too deja-vu-ish to me.


Also, look at Mewtwos face, he looks like a kitty. :3

then again, assuming real, that voice clip may not be recorded in or programmed yet

Apparently on the video he is attempted to be selected and it makes an ACCESS DENIED sound. ~ presumably because he hasn't been purchased.
I can't watch with volume atm though to confirm, just saw in the comments.

I doubt they'd be recording a voice clip so late. And that's what stands out. Maybe some brilliant person can hack in some character slots, put in some art of them, but the one thing he can't do is make that voice clip. And that's what keeps me skeptical about it.

If it's legit, then neat. If it's fake, then it's a really good one.

There is some noise, but it's not from the game audio.
 
I don't care much for Rayman, but the thing that makes me glad is that there will be DLC Characters besides Mewtwo! :D:D:D
 
When they try to select Rayman, the "error" noise plays ala attempting to pick a stage on 8-Player Smash that is locked because of the players.
 
Just came to the smash board to check if there was a topic on this yet. I don't know, I guess it could be real? I don't think there's a way to mod smash for wii u, but I wouldn't know. maybe just mad hax tho.
 
guys i think this leak is real... I also read somewhere that sonic will be in it too

Ahkay, thanks Zig. Sounds plausible for this early in the DLC to me.

Also, I'm half pee'd that Lucina, Dr Merty and Dark Pit haven't moved while other characters have, and half hopeful that this means that there are more DLC characters coming and they'll get put with their respective games when they come.

An error noise? Why would he even show up in the roster if he wasn't unlocked? The roster doesn't show anyone who isn't unlocked. I doubt this is the game where they'd show the DLC tantalizingly in the corner.

I thought they said other than Mewtwo there wouldn't be more DLC. I thought they said they weren't gonna do any anyway but then mewtwo popped up. Even in theory if Rayman became DLC, I bet he'd be paid DLC instead of Mewtwo where there's some time to get it for free. MONEY HUNGRY UBICRAP.

Both correct. Sakurai said in 2013 that no DLC was being planned, then after the announcement of Mewtwo late last year said that it was only a test of sorts. If I remember correctly, he mostly cited the costs and effort involved in creating a single character, and that it's basically not worth it.

It might be that due to fan demand and/or pressure from higher-ups, Sakurai caved and decided to start making Mewtwo as an add-on character very late in development. If it's pressure from people higher in the chain than Sakurai, even his claims of there being no other DLC after Mewtwo may eventually prove to be false.

And if that's going to be the case, Rayman is honestly a really odd choice.

And that's something Ubisoft has complained hard about, the cost of making anything for the WiiU. They skip bringing DLC for their OWN games to the WiiU. Why would they bring DLC to someone else's game on the system they despise? Yes yes it's one character not a whole game, but nonetheless it's work for them where they think they're not making money.
On top of that I thought Sakurai said he was done with Smash like a month or two ago now. Didn't he straight up say they're done working on it? Which I thought was part of the reason why we're not getting anymore DLC.
After all the "we no make money on ur systems" from Ubisoft, to bring Rayman back again is just crazy anyway, but totally typical of them. They whine about the WiiU owners then make us pay for some awkward Armenian eyebrowed Rayman like 4-5 months after the games come out and unexpectedly as well, also something nobody really ask for and chances are wouldn't be greatly popular.
Even if he was added, come next Smash Bros game he'd probably get removed due to lack of interest or Ubi having some new whine.
Ubisoft: DLC didn't sell well, Rayman too mature, no more Rayman for you.

Eh who knows though, just some fat to chew on I guess for a few days until someone says there's no Rayman DLC coming.

but what if Ubisoft aren't even making the DLC, but just are the guys that Nintendo/Bandai-Namco have to go to to approve anything regarding it?

Plus, even if Sakurai's out, I don't see any reason they couldn't make more DLC if they wanted to.
 
I always wanted rayman to join the fight! he's already a good fighter in his games! I wish for this to be true but I'm 100% it's fake for some reason :(
 
Wouldn't Ubi have to throw money at Nintendo to get Rayman in the game? Pacman got lucky because of Sakurai and Sega had already said yes to Sonic from Brawl. Capcom with Mega Man I thought came in because Sakurai had something to do with telling them "hey you wanna get in on this". No one asked Ubisoft if they wanted in. They got snubbed! They must be desperate if they asked Nintendo to let Rayman in all this time later.
 
as you mentioned though, paid dlc

but really, we hardly even know the behind-the-scenes for this stuff. so there's not much point in debating it
