Rare winter solstice & Lunar Eclipse visible tonight!

The eclipse, caused by the moon going into the Earth's shadow, will begin at about 12:32 a.m. Tuesday in the Midwest, 1:32 a.m. on the East Coast, and 10:32 p.m. Monday on the West Coast.
Adler astronomer Larry Ciupik said the moon is high in the sky for the winter solstice, which aids viewing, provided it's not too cloudy. Unfortunately for some Midwest viewers, clouds and snow are expected tonight.
The last winter solstice total lunar eclipse visible from the Midwest was in 1638 -- the next one won't be until 2094, Ciupik said.
The next total lunar eclipse visible in the Midwest will occur on April 15, 2014.
Ciupik said the moon will appear reddish during the eclipse, due to the way the light from the sun bends around the Earth.

Ah yes, it'll be really clear from here on Long Island. I'm not staying up to watch it though. I'll google it tomorrow or something.
C'mon man no west coast love? Me and my Dad estimated either 9:30 - 10:30 on west coast is when it's going to start.
as if it's necessary, right now..
*bump* for this.
Fail on my part nevermind.
Awwww, I can't see it. It's snowing where I am :/

Aw that sucks it would totally be appropriate considering your username.
Over here n the west coast the moon is completely covered up by the shadow of the earth.
*censored.3.0*ing mexico decided to send a goddamn duststorm to houston, so *censored.3.0*.
oh well. lol
youtube, away.
I just saw it, it's really amazing. The best part is the stars though, they're twinkling so much, they look like they're changing colors.
I don't think you can see it from the UK. And even if you could, it would be too cloudy anyway.

Don't make me laugh, as if the UK would ever get something as phenomenal as this?
Our best is snow, we only started getting that like 2 years ago -.-
What a shame, I don't get to see it. Not like I care though
Ah damn i missed it. I set my alarm for it. And the alarm didn't go off. :|
Couldn't see it where I live, it was snowing like you wouldn't believe in Chicago.
Woke up at two this morning just to see it. It was pretty cool, seeing something that hasn't been seen in a while.
I didn't get to see it. =[
Too cloudy
Too cloudy, but for a few minutes I saw something shiny.
Got up at one and was out there until three. A real bloody ellipse.
apprently at 2:00-2:40 am the moon began to turn mostly red so that's a no-go for those who end up in bed at 9
