Pretty much the title!!

I’m curious to see how villager popularity has changed since I last payed attention.

You can list however many you’d like!

I also wanna see if anyone has any unique ones!! I want some inspo for villagers I haven’t had on my island before.

Mind, I've only had about fifty villagers in NH so my experience there is pretty limited, but I went through a lot in the other games as well so I'll make a list from all of them, best as I can recall. A lot of times it's hard to rank them because I never have just one favorite, no matter what it is it's usually a list of several, although I think Stitches and Shep really are my first pick.

And an honorable mention goes to Snake, not because I like him so much but that little pink Ninja bunny knew how to get around. I can't remember which one of our WW games he started in, my daughter's or mine, but every time he'd leave our towns we'd forget he was in the void and ended up with him moving back and forth between our towns so many times I lost track.

Omg !!! I remember baabara I recall loving her so much as a kid. I think it’s because when I was first playing WW, she moved in and I found it so cool that the sheep villagers wore scarves, that makes me so nostalgic

Yes, the scarf was so cool! Whatever outfit she wore turned into the scarf-I'm pretty sure I've had her in WW, CF, and NL and I'd love to have her again for a picture. I just looked her up on the Nookipedia and for NH she's wearing a dress as a top, no longer a scarf. That's kind of sad, really.

Anyway, I need to see if eventually I can track her down for NH. I have a list I'd like to accomplish that with but the reality is, if a person is going to try to get through a lot of villagers in NH it also takes a bunch of TT. I went through almost forty villagers in something like seven months in my original town but how I did it was that once I got pictures from several, like three or four of them, I'd start cycling for campers and when I found one I liked I'd get them to move in and replace one of them (if someone moved out organically then I'd go island hopping). It usually took the better part of play time for one or two days to get that done and often by the time I was finished months of in-game time had gone by. Even so, it was also a good way to get the models from C.J. and Flick made up as there are SO many bugs and fish!

I'm not interested in having ten permanent villagers as I love collecting pictures, so three or four I'd like to keep long term is good for me. I really blame WW for getting me hooked on villager pictures. In the GameCube version you had all these great (or not) villagers, and if players had more than one town, if ever you visited back and forth a random villager would just be gone. So I really appreciate having so much more control over that kind of thing in NH.

It IS so sad I thought that was such a cute and unique feature. I don’t mind TTing for villagers at all!! The rng is what drives me insane with the islands. And I love making models so much, the coelacanth is my favourite fish ever, so I was so excited when I found out I could make a model of it. I even got a tattoo of it last year. Actually, now that I think about it, the way I found out that coelacanths existed was because of AC new leaf, that game was genuinely my life growing up.

We learned a lot of oddball things from AC, like about the deep-sea fangly fish (aka football fish). I'm pretty sure that's where I first heard of coelacanths (aka fossil fish) as well. See? I learned stuff. LOL

These are my top 10 villagers in animal crossing new horizons, but sadly I won't be able to have them all on my island because I prefer to have one of every personality type!

1. Molly - she's the sweetest villager ever. A baby duck, what's not to love?
2. Poppy - I love the squirrels, and Poppy's design is just too cute
3. Marshal - Again, what's not to love? A little marshmallow squirrel!
4. Gabi - My favourite peppy. The personality just suits her so well, and I love her little freckles.
5. Ketchup - Tomato duck? I'm sold!
6. Flurry - I think the hamsters are adorable, I love how round they are. I'd easily have a hamster island, and Flurry is the sweetest.
7. Blaire - I've loved her since Wild World. The snooty personality really suits her too, she's so sassy!
8. Plucky - My favourite Uchi, she just looks like a big sister. When life gets hard, she would take you under her wing and bring you cups of coffee.
9. Shari - She moved in unexpectantly in New Leaf and I loved her. As with Plucky, I get very caring vibes from her.
10. Penelope - A popstar mouse with a pink ribbon wrapped around her ears? You just know she's going to be a star one day!
