Random thoughts thread. (New Horizons)

Also getting rid of the dripfed content. If it was all there day 1 it would had been awesome. Having been with NH from day 1 it stunted the experience for me. I would had loved to have all the content and the only barrier to its access would've been my progress and not waiting for Nintendo to release it. Which we never knew when that would be so it made the experience all the more frustrating to me.

Yes definitely this. I had so much more fun with the game after I restarted it after all the updates were added. I hope the only thing they add in the next one is maybe some new furniture or clothing. It was crazy to me how long it took to get Brewster added. By the time he was added we had already done what you need to unlock him I game. It didn’t feel as satisfying as having to do things to get him he was just there. I like progression in game which I think they did better in NL.

Something tells me that I don't miss New Leaf, I just miss the fun friends that I once had back in the day. And I've neglected New Horizons for New Leaf all this time because of this.

So from now on, I'm going to give up the nostalgia factor for New Leaf and gear more towards New Horizons to give more of a chance on it and make some friends here or elsewhere and try and recap those fun moments I once had. More on it momentarily because the 3.0 update is coming out soon, and I wouldn't want to miss out on the fun of it due to a game that doesn't get updates anymore.

Sure, nostalgia is nice once in a while, but too much of it can change how you see the present that varies in person to person, whether that'd be good or bad.

Just a few more weeks left until the update.

Oh, you have no idea yet.

i think its really annoying to have to do pathing lmao and now i finished and found a new custom design code so i have to tear it all up and redo it

My niece is so sweet! She made me this "nook phone" out of cardboard and print out design! I gave her my Switch Lite when the Switch 2 came out. I had no idea she would love ACNH so much! Her island is really impressive in such a short time, and she isnt allowed to play much each day. She definitely knows how to utilize her time!

that is sooo adorable!! :D

I wanted to gush over my new island that I started yesterday.

It has the right airport, the right fruit, the rivers I wanted, resident services is lined up perfectly with the airport, the secret beach is perfectly central where I wanted it, the regular beaches are great with no ugly rocks or anything.

I had a mini panic when I remembered sister fruits are a thing because I have an irrational hatred of peaches. So I spent the day grinding nook miles to visit mystery islands. My sister fruit is oranges which is exactly what I wanted it to be.

Its like this island was written in the stars. Which actually it must be because its my first (real) day on the island and I have a meteor shower.

How perfect can it get? :D

I started a new island and my resident services lines up perfectly with the airport and I see now why people like that so much, it's so nice tbh! I have plans for a cool town central area in that spot now.

This new update got me redesigning my main island, which I’m still working on. I’ve been modifying it even before the update came out.

The lobster needs to get its cretaceous behind into my pockets before January ends.
I feel ya on that one. I caught it today myself, but my god did it take forever.
I was actually starting to question if it could even spawn in the first week of the game at one point. (The answer obviously was yes lol)

I really get overwhelmed with how big the island is. All of that to decorate + the DLC + the hotel + my house ?? We're responsible of so much, and the island is huge and I don't know how to decorate it 😭
I'm kinda tempted to reset and start from scratch but that won't fix any of my problems.

Remember to just take it slowly. Enjoy just playing on the island, doing some fishing, chatting to villagers, watching the seasonal changes. All the decorating, the DLC, the hotel and house upgrades you can just chip away at. Decorate small areas when inspiration hits, but don’t put pressure on yourself to have a big plan and get it all done within a specific timeframe :)

Im kinda surprised that the community isnt more alive right now.
New horizons is currently topping nintendos sales charts.
The upgrade pack being number 1 for switch 2, followed by the full switch 2 edition in second place, and even for the switch 1 charts, new horizons is topping it.

Sales of the game are way up.
So where is everybody? :P

Not sure what to think of the burying money in the bell hole. I buried 31,000 bells and was lucky to get 31,000 bells back two different times. I just wish I didn’t have to wait 3 or 4 days to see if it was a good investment or not. I spend so much money in the mean time, so I am not sure if it’s worth it. I wanted to hear if anyone really thinks doing more than 31,000 bells is worth it.

Honestly burying 10k bells is your best bet. You're basically guaranteed to get back 30k everytime (rarely will you get back less).
