I've been playing ACNL for years and sadly this STILL happens to me! I've yet to actually catch the bees...

There's a trick to it. I used to NEVER catch bees in any AC game, but now I catch them 95% of the time. Here's what I learned from another user:

Once the beehive drops, run upward of where the hive dropped and go into your inventory menu. While in the inventory, attach your net to your character. When you do this, your character will automatically turn around with the net in hand. Exit your inventory and quickly ready your net. Release it when you see the bees come on the screen. I hope this helps

Yep, I use this technique as well, but sometimes I get nervous and mess up my timing of when i should catch the bee. Lol XD
