I'm gonna try to auction this new feather. Here are the details:

Starting bid: 5,000 TBT
Minimum bid: 100 TBT

Rules:

1. I reserve the right to add 24 hours to each day. However, I will not add anymore time if it's passed 72 hours or if somebody makes a bid.
2. Unless if your bid was accidental or if you don't have enough TBT, you cannot withdraw from the auction if you have the highest bid.
3. No VM bids, PM bids, or any bids beyond this thread. The Rules and Guidelines forbids this.
4. Do not get rude at me or other bidders. Giving suggestions is okay, but not crashing this thread.

Auction ends at 7:00 PM Fair Time on September 6th. I may add time unless someone bids between now and then.

Wanna know why Rule 2 is in effect? It's not to enslave you into the auction once you make a bid. Back in 2015, someone asked to withdraw (even if she returned later) because of how rude other members were, and she had a really good bid. To prevent this from happening again, I placed a rule where you cannot pull out unless if you have the second highest bid or if you don't have enough.

And yes, I know that there's no need to bring up old drama, but I'm explaining why I don't allow withdrawing from the auction.

Unfortunately it appears that people might not be will8ng to spend 5k tbt on a rad feather. Not that they wouldn't! I just don't see that here.

A few hours ago, I thought of lowering the initial bid to 4k TBT until someone adds a higher bid.

My question is, why are they willingly going to pay 5k TBT for a sweet feather, but not the same for a rad feather when there are even fewer rad feathers?

Maybe they like the design of the Sweet Feather better?

I think lowering the bid won't be a bad idea. But under one condition. If it doesn't make any bids by 6:00 PM my time (7:00 PM Fair Time), I will lower the bid to 4,000 TBT while I add 24 hours to the auction, but that's as low as it can go. Of course, one user can at least make a bid of 5,000 TBT right now so the auction ends later today, but I'm giving them a choice to either bid now, or bid after I drop the price.

It's kinda odd that two to three years ago, people were demanding more collectibles. Now they are demanding more TBT Bells. Do you think the staff should start making more spending opportunities to the richer members of the forums? Somehow new collectibles isn't going to work, at least when the site is inactive.

I wish I can go there and sell it, but the site rules said that if I put something up for auction, I cannot cancel it. And I already set up the right to extend the auction by 24 hours if I get no bidders each day. Sure I can pull the plug instead of extend the auction once 7 PM Fair time comes, but I might get some angry message from Resetti (which is actually written by Jeremy or someone else) if I go against that. But I don't know if I'm allowed to either close it at 7:00 PM today or if I am forced to extend it. I did say that I will close it between now and then if I get at least one bidder, but I'm pretty devout to the site rules.

Maybe i'll go to danielkang's thread and sell it if the staff allows me to not extend it even if I set the extension up in my rules.

I think most people here with rare collectibles looking to sell should somewhat lower their expectations. The tbt market isn't what it used to be. Most people can't afford guide prices on rare collectibles. And the few who can already has those collectibles. Something really should change

I did suggest redistribution, but that might anger some of the members here. However, the situation is more severe than what they think.

Maybe they should have some art commissions in the TBT shop, or an unlimited restock animated collectible (but high-priced). Take my animated plasma ball collectible or animated disco ball collectible ideas. That would pull more TBT out of circulation, but at least there would be less of a hoarding problem.

I think part of it is the way the market is set up, and how 1 tbt = 200k IGB. It might also be that it's just really hard to get tbt in general because people seem to charge a lot for something but want to spend less for something else of similar value.

And I agree with TOMFG that the reason that people might not want to buy the rad feather is not because it's rare, but because i's not as aesthetically pleasing to most people here.

I think that's a great idea, actually. One of the things I lie about this fair is the ability to purchase line art from Laudine for... what is it, 40 tickets? It would Be good to charge higher prices for higher quality art so to draw in people with more tbt.

Idk I feel like I'm tryin to rob people tho lol

Did you know the Rad Feather is an apple feather? If you get the Rad feather, the apples will think you are appreciating apples.

I don't particularly want it, but it's a product of the apple empire.

I have an Apple. From you, actually. Do your Apples think I appreciate them?

...according to Laudine, who designed it, it is modeled after watermelons. Just sayin'
Lol

I read on another thread around here that people thought tbt was easy to earn but it's like ... you earn a fraction of a single tbt for a post LOL (unless you write an essay of course even that's like 1.5 tbt lol). Nice collectibles go for thousands of tbt. And unless you have time to dedicate to make a shop for art or items, getting a lot of tbt is hard. That makes it hard for people like me who aren't talented (T__T LOL cries) or don't have the time to trade all day (because even re-tail these days isn't super active nor do you make much selling things).

this is slowly turning into a discussion so sorry apples

Didn't you just spend 5k TBT on that Sweet Feather?
