I've got a bunch of alpine panels that I've had Cyrus customise into a miniature version of the town flag - I send this to every new villager along with their welcome mail  I think it's a nice way to welcome someone to my village.

What are some of your town quirks?

I've really been trying to give each villager their own defined yard area. Hedges and all. Fuchsia's got a picnic area, Olivia has a garden in her front yard, Merengue has a spot that will probably be a qr code patio, etc. It's been sort of difficult because some of the areas I want to put larger pwps just don't have enough space! Like how Ankha's house is annoyingly wedged in between the cliff and the plaza or how Static's house has tons of space between it and the river, but its not *quite* big enough for, say, the hot spring. Bob got lucky though. He's going to not only have a play ground right in front of his house, but there's also room for a side yard for a hammock or bench. Now if he would just suggest some pwps, haha.

Cute !! I've been meaning to do that for a really long time, I'll get to it one day I suppose. Always so much to do!

I have special yards for my villagers, like Purrl has holy bushes surrounding her house and then there's a cute blue rose/jacobs ladder/mushroom/lucky clover pattern around her house. Then Annalise has lucky clovers on the sides, some flowers in the back, and then some cedar trees to the left of her house and a cute little garden to the right. I like to make each house unique and mach with the outside of the house as well as the characteristics of teh villager.

I customize villagers' yards with flower and bush combinations that I think suit their homes exteriors and their personalities.
On Mondays I pick out my QR outfits for the week. I wear pj's at night and save at the end of the day in bed xD

Wait, you can do that? o:
I thought that you couldn't drop or attach customised furniture with patterns to mail.

I don't think that I have anything too good except I do plant flowers around all of my villagers' houses that match their house or roof. :3
I've tried to make them all different too so each one is unique.

-Since I realized giving presents to villagers ruins their houses... I try to keep them as original as possible, which means I don't send them furniture, let them buy it from me, etc. Also, I prefer not changing their catchphrase but that doesn't really bug me as much.

- I don't want any villagers near my house... although I've kind of made an exception for Zell ^^

-I don't like having villagers of the same type (2 lazy ones, for instance). However, I do and I just can't let move some of them... so the struggle is real xD

omg I love the little yard ideas! I was going to do it but theres not a lot of room in front or behind any of my villagers homes :/
I've noticed that when it's raining, I don't like to run lol. I guess because of the sound.
I used to put gyroids in front of the houses of villagers I liked

Hmm, are they wedged in between a the cliff and the river or what?

I used to send all my new villagers welcome mail with a favorite gift. It was always called a housewarming gift, and it was from the entire town, not just me.

I wanted all of my animals to know they were loved and welcomed into my town.

I use the sneezing reaction just cause. I've also made my house have rooms with different purposes, like cabana theme living room, Exotic theme kitchen, mermaid theme bathroom, green set garden, sleek set basement, and classic theme bed room.

I send new villagers perfect apples with their welcome mail. :D

I like having my home closed off from the rest of my town too.

All the flowers in town are either blue or white, and most of my villagers are blue too.

I used to send all of my villagers letters every day for the first few weeks of my town :I don't do it anymore because it's annoying, but i should start sending them at least a few letters once in a while so I can get the golden letter writing badge :>

every single flower needs to be white, I sell yellow flowers and dump off all the red ones to my friend. also I love sending mail to my favourite villagers, but only my favourites... nobody else can enjoy my gifts...

I grab all the flowers that pop up that are red/yellow/dandelions and put them all together in a big area and just run through them all until they're destroyed. My town only has pink, purple, and white flowers.

Before Christmas all the villagers get a small Christmas tree. My side players help out to get the trees in all the houses.
Also send them money for a secret Santa. Give them bells to buy a gift for the next person on the list. I get some interesting letters back.

If a villager sends me something in the mail I wear it. The hunter cap that I didn't like became a favorite during winter.

I plant flowers around the houses that match the colour of their house. I also have to start my day by finding all the fossils and such, taking them to the museum and then selling the ones I already had. Oh an I write a letter to each of the new villagers with the town fruit when they first move in.

Wow, this thread is actually really inspiring; I'm kidnapping a couple of these ideas (sending everyone a flag-decorated alpine panel, giving everyone a yard -- I toyed with the idea, but forgot about it for a while).... Speaking of that last one, my thoughts for giving villagers without much room directly in front/behind/to the side for a yard (I have one -- camp on one side, path on two, cliff on the 4th) is that I might give him a space just across the path for "his" garden, since I'd put a log bench for him to use. I may give another character in a similar fix a little secret fairy circle. Thanks for the ideas!

One thing I have done is give all my villager's houses a little lining of flowers/ores/etc, reflective of the characters. I need to finish these on the last few, but the idea's added some character, as I work on translating colors. Another thing I like to do is, when a villager visits my house, talk to them in every room of my house until they comment on something about how I've decorated it (A piece of furniture, that there's rare stuff, that it has everything, or something specific and variable like that). When in their rooms, I'll have an emote party with them, especially dancing and singing.
