Quick Question about Villager "Adoption"

Hello! I just have a quick question. One of my villagers who is in boxes was just "adopted" by another player. I am Time Traveller (I know I know, I just enjoy refreshing the shop and speeding up bridges/inclines. I usually timetravel one day at a time.) I wanted to do some Island Tours since I want to treat myself to another villager. But to do this, I have to have the villager I sold completely gone so I can have an empty plot.

If I timetravel one day in advance, will this mess up the villager going to the player that adopted him? Or will it have no effect? Thank you!

As long as the other person has a SOLD plot with the sign that says "this plot is reserved for {villager}'s new home" then I think you should be fine.

I have yet to test this myself, but I just adopted Wendy from a TTer and don't TT myself, so I'll find out tomorrow if TTing messes this up

It won't have any effect. Also don't feel bad about TTing. Play how you wanna play. You paid $60 for it, go nuts.

What I want to know is after the villager is in boxes and someone comes to my town to claim him/her, can I go on an Island tour to look for a new villager or do I have to wait until the next day (I don't TT)?
I've asked this question on the forum a number of time but no one seems to have a concrete answer.

Also, after my villager is adopted, can I potentially visit someone else's island to adopt someone else or do I also need to wait for the next day?

Thanks in advance.

You need to go to the next day in order to do that. Technically they still live on your island the day they're leaving. Once the plot is empty, you can go adopt a new villager.
