Quick question about the villager house exterior glitch

I got Marshal trough the campsite method using time travel. once I found him I replaced him with Bam, skipped two days forward to see if he was there unpacking, but the exterior of his house remained Bam's.
I read somewhere that this can be fixed by asking someone to hold him and then making him move back to my island, or maybe I could just give him away after a while since he's not one of my dreamies.
In case I end up giving him to somebody, will his house remain glitched?

No, I don't think so. Whether he moves back to your island or another one, his exterior will get fixed! There's also a villager holding thread in the new neighbor network, if you ever decide you want to keep him, and get his regular exterior. Hope this helped!
