Quick question about QR code machine?

I created a secondary character in order to get more paths for my town, and I've been talking to Sable in order to have her let me use the QR code machine. I think I've spoken to her for 4 days straight now... I lost count.

Is it still 10 days to be able to use the machine, or is it different with non-mayor characters?

It's still 10 days. I made Bianca (from pokemon) as a secondary character and I had to wait a long time before Bianca could finally use the QR code machine to download her outfit.
