Hi, so i'm trying to plot my houses to all be 1 space apart, and I was just wondering if anyone can tell me whether or not this would be 1 or 2 spaces apart? I'm having difficult telling but to me it's kind of looking like 2.

here it is in comparison to the house on the left that is 1 space away from the house in the middle

and here's where my character's placed on the map when I'm standing directly in front of the sign

if anyone can help me I'd really appreciate it!! I've been plot setting for........quite a while orz

ah, when I do that, they're both the same amount of spaces on top, but on the bottom screen the house on the left is only one space apart from the house in the middle whereas the house on the left that's moving in looks like it would be two spaces from it, from where my character is standing. if that makes sense.

Houses cannot be placed 1 space apart, so that's actually the closest the houses will be. Houses each need 1 space of clearance all around and hence there can be at minimum 2 spaces between any two houses.

sorry I wasn't very clear at explaining it but this is actually what I meant

they're both 2 spaces on top like you said, but on bottom the right one ended up being a little bit further apart... there are rows of squares if you look closely and on the left there's only one row of squares but with the one on the right, there are two rows of squares.
thank you though!

ps magi is <33

edit: rereading my original post I realized I didn't ask the question how I meant it at all, I should've referred to the squares on bottom like I just did instead of spaces ;;

I think I understand better now xD. I definitely see the difference on the map! I don't think that the square pixels are 100% accurate to the spacing of objects in towns though if you compare the size of each pixel square with the number of pixel squares that equals the width of a house ><. If there's 2 actual spaces (which can be determined with flowers) between two houses then that is the closest you can place any two houses. It looks like from the original pictures you posted that the other houses are 2 spaces apart though ^^.
