Questions about the Villager Trading Plaza

I have a couple of questions about the Villager Trading Plaza. The first one is whether it would be possible to allow users to search for villagers who have short names. Right now, when you search for a villager whose name is shorter than four characters, it says that the word is too short to be searched. I understand that this is meant to keep people from searching for very common words and getting too many results, but I wonder if there's a way around it or if they could be an exception? It makes it harder to search for those villagers.

The other question I have is whether it would be ok if I created a Tier 5 Support Group of sorts. It would be intended as a place where people could post about looking for, having, or knowing someone who is moving out Tier 5 villagers. I understand that the Looking For/Buying thread and the search function can be used for this purpose, but there are some issues with those, because it's posts to get buried (even with bumps) and some people don't bother advertising unpopular villagers, so it's easy to find only outdated posts or narrowly miss them. It would be different from those places since I'd keep an updated list (based on a form that would include things like how soon a user can adopt or move out that villager) and giving tips if people know of a thread where that villager is being given out would be allowed. I'd find it helpful, since some of the villagers I want to adopt or move out are Tier 5s.

I'm bumping this again, especially because of the inability to search for the names of some villagers.

Unfortunately it's not feasible to change that search limitation because it's related to how the database is setup. I think making the group would be okay.

I think a way around that was putting "QUOTATION MARKS" around the name but I'm not sure how well that works.
When I looked up Tia on the Buying thread, I put "Tia" and results came up. I don't know of any shorter names, though.. so I can't tell you if a shorter name works.

Thanks. I thought there could be a way to add them as exceptions but I can see how that could be difficult or impossible. Thanks for saying that about the group, I'll set it up soon, when I have more free time again.

Thank you so much! I'm going to go try this right away. I don't know if there are any villagers whose names are shorter than 3 letters, but even a villager whose name was 2 letters long should work with this method since I think the minimum number of characters is 4. The villagers I haven't been able to search for have names that are 3 letters long so it should work the same way. (I'm saying this for reference, in case anyone's having the same issue.)

Weirdly, when I tried to do that it didn't work. This time it's not telling me that the search term is too short but that there are no matches:

"Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."

I know there should be some because I've posted about this villager in the LF thread, so at the very least, my own posts should show up.

Me too! Although, I have had luck finding lower Tier villagers by posting in the 'Looking for' thread.
