Hey guys, sorry if this is not the right place for questions.

I read online that if you see a villager having a thought bubble and he's asking to move, if you close the game without ending the conversation the bubble will transfer to another villager the next day but I've been having the same villager with the bubble for a few days straight and everytime I talk to him it's about moving. Am I doing something wrong? Do I have to TT for the bubble to transfer? Should I just tell him not to move? how many days until the next villager wants to move then?

i have heard the same thing but that you need to ask tom nook to move the villager's house and then cancel it, and that makes them stop wanting to move and someone else will ask instead. not sure how true this is and it hasn't been foolproof when i have tried but yea

I've had some ask a lot in a row, but also some have wanted to move, and I just don't even start the conversation to talk to them. I just turn off the game and go to the next day, and it's usually a different one. Haven't tried the Tom Nook moving trick, but that might help some...

That’s been working for me pretty consistently, though it does seem like the chain can get interrupted. For example, by days that have specific scripted dialogue, like Bunny Day or the Fishing Tourney.

When you say "cancel" do you mean going to the process of moving houses with Tom, picking a villager and then telling him "no"? or do you actually have to pay 50k and then cancel it?

actually pay 50k, go through the process - talk to the villager after if you want to verify, sometimes they have a thought bubble but its just an item thing - then talk to nook and cancel the move. i've used this method and it's a very very reliable method. actually, i only use this now to switch which character is moving. here is a thread that details the process better.

note: sometimes you will get the same character in a row w this method as well, and that is just the nature of the game's RNG.

pay 50k, get the housing kit, then cancel. you get your bells back

Thank you both, will try this and see... *fingers crossed*
