I recently got Marshal in my town from a lovely person here, but due to some issues, he plotted in a very bad place :( I was thinking of kicking him out and moving him into my boyfriend's town and then inviting him back when the space has been cleared. Will this work? Or do I have to wait for the 16 villager cycle before he'll move in again?? Hopefully not, because I really want to ask him to move back in as soon as possible! Has anybody tried this yet? I don't want to kick him out and move him to my boyfriend's town, only to put him in boxes and then have him refuse to come back..

If you have Marshal's amiibo card that would speed up the process a lot since amiibo cards skip the cycle. Other than that you would have to wait.

Unfortunately, I don't have his amiibo card :( So if I kick 16 villagers out with amiibo cards, those won't count towards the cycle?

Well if your boyfriend has him in boxes, and you have 9 or less villagers, you can go to his town and get him! ^-^

Really? ^_^ He won't turn me down even if the 16 villager cycle isn't done?

He will turn you down if the 16 villager cycle isn't done. That's always how it's worked and the only way to avoid that is if you have marshals amiibo card. I do believe that amiibo cards count towards the cycle though. Somebody on here tried it the other day and said it worked..so you could keep scanning in cards to complete the cycle

Thank you ^_^ That's probably the safest way to go. Hopefully it works *fingers crossed*

Warning on the amiibo cards -- using them will count towards the 16-villager cycle, but amiibo card villagers will not ping unless your entire village is made up of amiibo villagers. So, that 16th amiibo villager will NOT ask to leave so you can move Marshal in. You'll need to end on a card villager you want to keep and then wait for one of your original villagers to ping.

Oh, interesting. Thanks for the heads up, that's good to know!
