Hi all! I'm still pretty new to ACNL so there's a bunch of things I don't understand about the game yet, hoping someone will help me out! :)
Basically.... I don't know anything about villagers moving in and out, or how it works :o
I've kept 10 villagers in my town up until now, but I'm finally ready to slowly let some of them go (with the help of April Fool's Day allowing me to get all of their pictures ^^). No one has pinged to leave yet, but I want to be prepared when they do! I know there's the Villager Trading Plaza but I haven't spent much time on there because I'm really not sure how the buying/selling/auctioning villagers process even works. But I do know that I would want to give my villagers to anyone who actually wants them instead of letting them move into the abyss! Sooo... can anyone take the time out to explain the basics to me?

Another question: My town is literally FILLED with flowers right now and I would be pretty upset if a new villager comes and their plot destroys all my hybrids :o Is that likely to happen? and is there a way I can prevent it?

Ah, well when you have 9 or 10 villagers, the game will automatically make one of them want to move. You could check the town and see if someone pings you to move, or use time travelling methods to get a specific villager to trigger their move faster.

There is a list of villagers based on popularity. You're more likely to give away Tiers 3-5 for free, as they are not in high demand compared to the Tier 1-2 villagers.

And you can move your flowers onto the beach, or store them in your lockers.

However, Tier 3-5 are harder to find because most people just "void them" (move them out, get rid of them) which is a bit annoying because they could be someones dream villager! If you need more help i suggest you check out this website: here!

If you have at least 9 villagers, at least one of them is likely to move. Have you unlocked the Island as well?

When a villager pings you to move, you can say yes to them. On the day before they move out, they'll be in boxes, which means that they stay at home all day and their belongings are packed into cardboard boxes when you visit them. That's when you can invite someone into your town to talk to them. If that person has a free spot in their own town, they'll get an option to invite that villager to move to their town. :) You can advertise to give them away or sell or trade them, if it's an unpopular villager, it's a good idea to advertise in advance so you'll get more of a chance that people will see your thread and reply.

If you have 9 villagers and don't want a random move-in as your 10th, I'd recommend making sure that people who visit you have a clear void or adopting a villager from someone.

Villagers can move on top of your flowers, so you can move your hybrids to the beach or plant them close to existing buildings, PWPs, and rocks, where villagers can't move. You can also plot reset to make sure that the villager is in a good location. If it's not a planned villager, you can use a new character to check your town for a plot every day (if you don't have a full town) and if there isn't a plot or if it's in a good location, go through the steps to save your game (you can delete this character later) before starting as your mayor.

Keep in mind, there's a small chance that if a villager pings you to move, and you basically tell them, "Yup, see you later! Peace out." Soooommmme villagers have a tendency to get a little mad that you want them to leave, so they'll offer to STAY! I've had this happen once or twice. -_-;; But most of the time, when you say goodbye to them, then they'll pack up and go in a few days. Have fun with ACNL & welcome! :)
