In LTTP (I think the first game with the MS???), the Master Sword was in a forest. Then in OoT, it was in a Temple in Hyrule, in which the drawer of the sword would become the hero of time. In Wind Waker, it was in Hyrule Castle, but Link never turned into the hero of time there...

How does that work?

lol i thought he was just kidding.

It could be put down to a lot things, expansion of the kingdom, an uncharted tale in the series, geographical changes to the land... Or a crucial error in the timeline in my head...

He hasn't turned into the hero of TIME in a while considering the fact that both LTTP and OoT deal with time related elements and WW and TP don't. It's all about the plot son. Can you blame Nintendo for trying to mix it up once in a while?

Lies! LTTP dealed with the Dark World. Not time. And if the Master Sword is only for the Hero of Time, how come others can get it?

There's a simple explanation... It was moved. Well, on the Adult Timeline before TWW, at least. It didn't move at all between OoT-TP-ALttP on the Child Timeline. Twilight Princess showed us that the Temple of Time had been destroyed over time, leaving the Master Sword standing in a ruined Temple of Time in the forest. That's why we see the Master Sword in the forest in ALttP.
