Can cardboard or sloppy furniture be put up in Re-Tail even if a villager doesn't have any pieces of the set? I had Snake put up a sloppy sink recently, but would it be possible for any villager? For instance Bluebear to put up a cardboard/sloppy series piece?

I had to do some quick research, and it looks like any villager can put a sloppy or cardboard item in re-tail for sale! A villager doesn't have to own the item in their house to sell it, it's just pure chance if you find it in your re-tail c:
Someone posted awhile back that a villager has items that we don't see. It's in their catalog to give to us or put up for sale at retail.
Tutu in my main town put a sloppy clock up for sale at retail and she doesn't have sloppy in her house.
Bluebear in my side town had sloppy items in the house but they went up for sale at retail.
It's a town where I don't care if their houses get empty. One day I cleared out retail and the next day a sloppy clock was there. Every 2 or 3 days I found another sloppy item. Found about 5 of the villagers were selling sloppy and cardboard items at retail. When it first happened I had my main town mayor visit all of their house. Most didn't have sloppy or cardboard items in their house.
I've received 2 sloppy sofa in a row. When it slows down I stay away from retail on the weekends unless something is premium. On Monday I usually find a sloppy or cardboard set. The floor was the hardest item to get. So far I've got 3. Got lots for walls.
