question/my dilemma w/ villagers moving in.

sherb is in boxes, moving in tomorrow. my 9th house plot went to kidd (to replace rod's house) when i met him on a mystery island earlier today, though, and sort of maybe without thinking, i sort of sold an area of land ( and nobody's moved in, when i went to a mystery island earlier there were no villagers D: )- will there be a random move in, or will i be able to spend as many nook tickets as i want to get a cute villager that suits the *vibe* of my island tomorrow? D:
