I have done google searches & tried to figure this out on my own, but don't see any definitive answers, so I'll take it to the forum. It's to my understanding that you get one of these items on your birthday, if you have a good relationship with at least 3 of your villagers:

Birthday Board
Birthday Cake
Birthday Candle
Birthday Hat
Birthday Sunglasses
Birthday Table

I got one of these on my birthday last August, I think the candle, but my question is getting the rest. The best/only way (of course other than playing for 6 years...) is to time travel. Or buy it from someone else, of course. But when you have a good relationship with enough villagers, and you time travel, do those relationships maintain? Can I jump birthday to birthday for 6 years & get everything, and then go back to the real current time? Or does time traveling kill your level of friendships?

I'm new to time traveling. Still not going to do it in my main town, but I have a secondary cartridge with a second town I would like to experiment with it, in instances like this, where it's going to be impossible to get something without playing for 6 years.

Any help is appreciated, I'd love to get this set!

Well if you were to time travel a year in one go, chances are a villager will have moved out which you probably don't want and of course all friendship levels will be gone as the game basically acknowledges it as you ignoring them for a full year. The only way I could think of is if you tt a little less that a year, say a week before your birthday or so, and then play that week normally building up your friendship again. By your birthday you should have high enough friendship levels if you do it right. It seems pretty tedious though and I would take 6 weeks to accomplish, but it's better than 6 years. (If you don't want your villagers to move out then I can't see any way for this to be possible unless you continuously tt 10 days at a time or something, which would be torture lol!)

Hmmmm... So how do people acquire this birthday set then? Isn't it unorderable? Do people just use that "duping" trick that I just learned about to duplicate the set?

This information makes it sounds quite tedious to pull off. But that's kind of what I figured, and why I asked. Maybe I'll just have to post a want ad in the Re-Tail section and hope someone has something for sale.

Unless anybody has any other further information or ideas, I'd be glad to hear it!

My extra players are friends with the villagers and I used them to get birthday items.
If you get a repeat gift leave the game without saving and try again. I found this out when a villager that I didn't want to celebrate picked me up when I started the game. Played it 3 times so I could celebrate with different villagers and the gift change.

My extra town helped fill in the blanks. One of my extra player in my 2nd town use to play all the time. For 6 months she stopped except for when I needed her to order items. If she saw a villager she spoke to them on the way to the shop. Sometimes she mailed them a letter. A week before her birthday I sent her out to make friends. She got a birthday table on her birthday.

My Mayor is the only human to talk to the villagers, so I only get one birthday item each year. I just ordered the other pieces from other players & giveaways.
