Question for people with dreamies: did you get all personality types?

Something I’m still not quite sure about after years in the community:
Does “Dreamies” purely refer to the ones you’ll have in your game, or could you have more than ten because it’s just about them being your favorite villagers?

I see dream villagers as the ones that people actively want to obtain for their town, not just a villager they like a lot. For instance I really like Olive, Melba, Rolf, etc. but they're not my "dreamies" because I don't currently want them in my town.

people do probably use it a bit differently! at least for me, my favourites are my favourites, but my dreamies are just the ones i'd ideally like for my town. and it definitely overlaps!

Yeah, I think I tend to lean that way myself. It just feels weird to me sometimes because I might technically like some of my Dreamies less than other favorites.

A lot of that has to do with wanting to balance personalities and species (example: both Dobie and Whitney are favorites, but since I only want one wolf on my Island I’ll probably end up choosing a Snooty I like less than Whitney as my Dreamie)

Yes. The hardest was the jock because I don’t like them. Then I remembered I had Roald’s amiibo and invited him so he can be with baby Aurora.

I am honestly thinking of kicking Hazel out and giving the uchi slot to another peronality. I just cant click with them this time for some reason. The only issue is that i read you need every personality to complete unlocking reactions, same with DIYs.

Partially correct. The DIYs villagers make in their homes and give you at campsites are personality based, but not having a personality will not fully lock you out of it. All villager DIYs can come from bottles found on the beach, it will just be a lot harder to get ones from certain personalities since the bottles pull from the entire pool.

My town only have 4 personalities: Cranky, Jock, Lazy and Smug.
I am completely fine about lacking variety because I want to keep villagers who fit my theme. And they also happen to be my all-time faves.

As for the term "dreamies", for me they are your most wanted villagers that you really want in your town regardless of anything.

I have a hard time tacking down the exact dreamies I want so it's difficult to get all the behaviors lol

But I do stride to get at least one from each, exact cranky because I really don't want anyone being mean in paradise lol

I was pretty careful when making my ideal villager list to include at least one of each personality type, and to avoid multiples of species. The exception there is that I have both Audie and Freya. I have two Smug villagers (Raymond/Marshal) and I may end up with two Normal villagers by the end of it. Depends on if I get Judy or not.

I only have 3 dreamies so I don't have all the villager types. That being said, I love all my villagers and I'm missing an uchi which I want for the DIYs and reactions. I'm not gonna actively look for one though since I don't like any of the uchis and only when my villagers are ready to move will I let them go

In NL I didn’t have any cranky or jocks. NH added Dom, so now I have a jock at least.

Edit- I have had 3 normals in both NL and NH, and if they give us additional villager plots when they add Chelsea it’ll be 4 normals.. orz

i currently have one of each but i'm really considering sacrificing having an uchi, i like muffy and fuchsia as uchi villagers but there's others of different personalities that i prefer a lot more.

I have all personality types plus an extra lazy and extra normal. I like all of them but I’m not gonna keep all forever. I’ll just be keeping Marshal and Maple forever (maybe Zucker now too) for sure and then I’ll rotate others. There’s just so many good villagers I’d wanna get to know.
