Question: Checking for movers with an alt character

So in my cycling town, I noticed that because of low friendship, villagers usually just ping me when they're planning on moving - this makes catching the mover way easier.
In my main town, I sometimes miss the mover's ping because some other villager pings me for something else before the mover can (then I have to spam talk to someone to find out the potential mover, wait or reload the game).
However, I also have a 2nd character in my game that I hardly talk to my villagers with - would using that character be better to check for movers as it is in my cycling town because of low friendship? Does anyone use that method?

If the villager makes their mind up about moving then I'm sure they'll ask your alt too. imo try and figure which villager would be most important to talk to on your main. if they do plan on moving, you're best off checking with the more populated villager of the villagers you're going to talk to.

It's just that with my main character, they often ping me for other things before the movers has got a chance to ping so this really prolongs the process of finding out who is moving.
In my 2nd cycling town, the mover pings immediately. This is why I was wondering if they'd ping the non-mayor character about moving right away because as in the case of my 2nd town, the friendship with the alt is low.

Talk to all your villagers and do all their tasks for 1 day. 1 day only. This will raise their friendship. I suggest doing this every week ingame and then they should ping to move on your alt too.

Has anyone been successful in getting moving pings when playing with the alt character?

Yes, alt characters can receive pings to move. However, if the villagers have not talked to the alt in a while, this won't work. So talk to all villagers once to get the "I haven't seen you in a while!" message out of the way and then save and quit and load up the alt again to find the person who is gonna ping.

How do I know this? I've done it tons of times before.
