question abt the Roost

I tried looking through the backlog of the ACNH forum cause I thought someone else asked abt this but I can't find anything.

so I've unlocked the ability to go to Kappn's mystery islands (meaning I've gotten a 3 star island and I've completed the tutorial) and I thought at this point I would be able to talk to Blathers about finding Brewster. so far he hasn't made any mention of it at all, and I have tt'ed a few days and still nothing.

am I missing something?

Did you fully upgrade the museum? If you don’t have the art gallery you can’t get the roost. Also you have to donate at least one of bug, fish, art, fossil and sea creature

Have you checked this thread? Lots of similar issues. I went to Kapp'n first and was able to get Brewster still, so it didn't mess it up like I was afraid it would.

Unlock Conditions for Roost
The conditions for Blathers to begin the interaction to find Brewster are:

• single player mode / gates closed
• K.K. Slider has visited
• the museum has upgraded to the point where art donations are possible
• it is not during the International Museum Day event (Stamp Rally)
• you have donated at least 1 of each of the following:
  • fish
  • sea creature
  • bug
  • fossil
  • painting or sculpture
• you are the Island Representative
• you have talked to Blathers before
• you have talked to Blathers after upgrading the museum to accept art donations

thaaaaat's where I messed up. I haven't collected any sea creatures yet lol. I'll go do that now!
