Question about void villagers

So, Nibbles moved out this morning leaving an empty plot on my island. I went on a NMT hunt for one of the two villagers I'm looking to replace her with, but after 28 runs I ran out. I'm not sure I'll be able to get either of them just by earning and redeeming miles myself, so I'm thinking of selling off my hoard of recipes for NMT. However, would doing this put me at risk of involuntarily adopting a villager out of someone's void, therefore preventing me from going to adopt my dreamies? Or is the plot guaranteed not to be sold to any randos for the first day?

Mine got sold to a rando void villager first day. And according to anecdotal evidence, you can get void villagers either from visiting or hosting another player.

however, you would still have until 5 am when your new day starts to find Nibbles on a mystery island and invite her. The plot can’t get sold to a rando if you recruited her first.

To stay on the safe side, invite someone before the end of the day or move the clock back to stay within the same day until you find someone you would like to invite.
