Question About Villagers That Have Moved Out

I have had a few villagers that have moved out of my town that I really wish would return, is it possible to get them back in your town and if so what's the best way of achieving that

Also, if you can get them to return will they remember you or will they be reset with no memory of you

The only way you can get them back is if you Cycle through your villagers.
The memory thing I don't know about that.

They'll have no memory, unless it's the SAME Villager - like if you clear your void and someone gets YOUR "Bob" (or whoever) and then you get that Bob from them (or someone else) later.

I'm pretty sure you have to cycle out a total of 16 villagers beofre you can get the same one again.
For instance; If beau left my town. I have to have 16 other villagers move out before I can get Beau back.

as for the memory, if a villager moves out, let's say Bob, and a friend or whoever claims that neighbor, you can go to their town, and the villager will recognize you. However, the moment you get 16 other villagers to move out, Bob's memory of you will be erased.

That's a shame all well, thanks for answering guys I'm glad there is a way to get them back, but sucks at what you have to do to do it and the no memory thing would feel odd makes villagers you like that leave more sad

I hope they add something in future games that makes it easier to get and keep the villagers you like kind of like the amiibo cards in HHD

One time one of my favorite villagers moved out so I moved him into my other town. I did the 16 villager cycle and I got him back. He remembered everything about me, even our friendship status.

Yes i can confirm this and confirm the 16 villager cycling out thing. I had 2 3ds's and two towns at one point. I had one town as a cycle town. When i would move one villager from one town to the other, he or she definitely remembered everything. But it has to be your villager, not just the same character.

Oh, and if you know where your villager went, and you visit them, they will also remember you.

That's a neat feature little things like that is one of the reasons I love Animal Crossing

It is kinda sad when villagers you've had don't remember you because they aren't your version of that villager. But I guess it makes it a little more exciting I guess because it gives you more of a chance to build up a new friendship with that villager and it's always exciting when trying to achieve a high level friendship with your villagers - to me anyway, it just lets you learn a lot more about them.
