Question about villagers moving in

This might be a dumb question,, So, I currently have two empty plots that I opened today, and one of them has been sold to Zucker, who I met on a mystery island. You can only ask one mystery island villager to come to your town per day, so no more will show up now.

I need to fill my second plot though! Can I still visit someone else's island to invite a villager to fill my second plot, or can I only invite one villager per day? I don't want some random villager buying up the plot tomorrow lol.

Reading this back kinda sounds like a convoluted maths problem

How early are you in the game? These aren't the first three villagers, right? If they are, they're going to be random. But if they're not... I think only one villager can move in a day. So I don't think a random one will move in alongside Zucker, and I believe you should be able to find another villager once Zucker moves in.

I'm way past the first three villagers, I've just been avoiding inviting new villagers so far lol. Thanks for the reply, I figured that was how it works! Hopefully nobody will have bought the plot by tomorrow
