Question about villagers 3-5

These villagers are of three personality types and the go into "starter houses" that are made up of furniture that we diy... we have the option to choose the villagers who go into the 3 starter houses by going on mystery island tours... what I'm wondering is if we have as much time as we need to find these villagers until we put the furniture in the houses... is this true?? Because the only reason I haven't reset is because Bob's in a starter house at this point...


Another question.. are the diys we make for these starter houses customizable?

Someone had said this to me..
"Don't progress past whichever date you lay down the third plot on. Then it won't be automatically filled."
But I thought I had as long as I didnt put the furnishings in the houses to find bob...
So as long as I dont put the furnishings in I thought I didnt have to worry about progressing or not...?

I was under the impression that we dont have to lay down plots before finding villagers to move in on mystery island tours...

I'm not sure exactly what your asking but I'll try my best to answer. The furniture you put in the house plots doesn't matter because it won't be displayed with whoever moves in, they don't use any of it which is honestly a waste and annoying imo. As far as I'm aware the first three plots have pre-determined villagers (or you get them from the campsite, I can't quite remember!) so you don't get to choose who moves in. You do get to choose for every plot you place after the three but you only have until 5am the next day until a random villager moves in. Also you won't see villagers at all on mystery islands unless you have one built and free plot on your island. Hope this helps.

Maybe it's the houses 4 to 7.... I'm talking about the houses that we have to put furniture in.. I thought as long as they stil dont have furniture we have as long as we need to go to the islands and find villagers for them..

You get to choose villagers 3-5. Their personalities are predetermined that's all. As far as I remember I found my three on mystery islands before I completed the furniture (but I'd put the plots down). I don't believe the plots will get marked as sold before they are completed.
