Question about villager plots

So I just got papi and I'm plot resetting and he landed somewhere nice, I was planning on getting carmen to move in right next to him but I'm not sure if she'll have enough space to actually put her house next to his since its kind of close the the cliff, so my question is how close can a villagers house be to a cliff? Houses can be one space away from a cliff to the left or right, but they need to be at least two spaces away from the front, I think (at least, that's how it works with bushes/trees). And Carmen's house will have to be at least two spaces away from Papi's, which will leave the front left of her house only one space away from the cliff... so I'm thinking no, there's not enough space. If there's any room for Papi to shift his house to the right, like even one space over it should work.
