Question about villager house exteriors

My Pietro (I amiibo'd him in) has the log cabin exterior. He's supposed to have the light blue exterior. Does anyone know how my boy got the log cabin exterior? If I re-amiibo him in, will he have the correct exterior? The log cabin doesn't fit his colorful and cheerful vibe.

Edit: My Lolly seems to be in a different house as well.

Edit2: Lolly's house exterior is actually Reneigh's house exterior. I used to have her. I forced Reneigh out when I amiibo'd Muffy in. That's weird.

Edit3: My Pietro has Beau's house exterior, who I don't have. This is so weird. I'm going to re-amiibo him in and see what happens.

I'm pretty sure this happens when you time travel irregularly during the move-in process! It happened to me when I time traveled backwards once, but I believe it also happens if you "skip" over the day where the villager moves in / is in boxes unpacking. It should fix itself if you re-invite them but TT day by day (like, at least load up the game / isabelle's announcements for each day).

This happens when you don't load the day of the plot being empty. This can also happen to people who don't time travel. As long as you load the plot empty or plot sold with amiibo villager it won't keep the previous residents house. Hope this helps.

@Seelie @faerie Thank you so much! I TT'ed step-by-step, and Pietro is in his correct house now.

But now I want to experiment! I want to try to put Fuschia in Claudia's house! I'll let you know if it works! I'm TT'in Claudia onto the island now. And then when I TT Fuschia onto the island, I'll make sure to skip the first couple of days of her move-in, including the empty plot day. We'll see what happens!
