Question about villager birthday gifts

It's my princely horse Colton's birthday and I'm going to buy him a present! I've seen on Thonky that each villager has a favorite type of furniture and color of item; however, I haven't seen this information on any other source or wiki. Does anyone know if this information is real, or just a rumor?

Yeah it's real, I just gave my Colton a chaise longue which was listed as a perfect item and he was definitely very happy with it aha.

When I have given my villagers items from their most favourite type they have always been really pleased, so I would definitely follow that guide.
