Question about town projects

I have had the same options for like ever....Yellow bench, blue bench. light, tire toy, well...I already have them all!
I talk to all my guys like 83473423x a day and no one mentions anything cool

I think it's just about luck, I've got two yellow benches, and two street lamps. Tonight Clay requested I build a hammock so that's my next project.

It's random. Just walk in front of them, and if they "Ding" they could be recommending one. I've only gotten like 4 total. Another thing you can do is deposit all of your money into your bank, and totally empty out your inventory (Tools included). Then jump into the ocean and swim as far away as possible. Wait 5-10 minutes, and walk in front of your neighbors. A few will almost always ding. They can't ask you to catch a bug/fish, buy/sell something, ect- Because your inventory is empty. So they will usually recommend a project.
