My town, judging by it's paths and other stuff is suposed to be played in the summer, my town currently is in late November, I'd like to TT to the first day of sumer but I'm afraid villagers will move out since I have almost achived all of my dreamies :/ Is there some way I can prevent that? I don't care about weeds or flowers wilting so superduper much :P

if you want to time travel almost a year forward, I think you run the risk of losing villagers...you'd have to check back in every few days to stop anyone who is trying to move I believe...

If you're time traveling backwards, the game is unaffected by the amount of time you go back. I'm not sure whether or not flowers will die in doing so, because I always have the beautiful town ordinance, but I know villagers won't move if you go backwards.

Thats a pretty massive jump, almost a year. Assuming your traveling forward I can almost guarantee you will lose some of them. Perhaps take some smaller jumps so that you can prevent anyone from moving out.

as long as you aren't bothered by your game being off a year and are only really concerned with the season, then that seems like the best plan to go with

If you are going backwards, then there is appearantly no risk at all of losing any villagers, and your flowers/grass will suffer no damage as long as you have the beautiful town ordinance on. So you can jump right on back to summer in one go it seems. If you are going foward though, I would personally check in every 4 days.

If TTing forward, you risk losing a villager every 5 day jump, however if you jump a huge period, you will only lose one villager.

So, you could jump every 5 and risk losing a new villager each time/doing a lot of work to make sure no one moves out, or, you could do the whole jump and only lose 1 villager.

Time-travelling backwards any length of time is registered by the game as a single day, so no, no flowers will wilt :) I TTed all the way back to the cherry blossoms in early April from the end of October and suffered no ill effects.

It's actually fairly easy to prevent anyone from moving if you want to make a big jump forward. Here's what you do:

1. Find a villager who wants to move and stop them from moving.
2. Save and quit your game.
3. TT as far ahead as you'd like with your game system clock.
4. ???
5. Profit!

But yeah, flowers will die and weeds will take over your town if you don't have the beautiful town ordinance.

If you TT backwards, it only counts as one day (flowers, grass, etc. are unaffected) BUT if you TT forwards, best to make 3 day jumps, as villagers usually ping every 3 days.

If a villager that I don't plan on keeping pings me about moving can I TT backwards to the date I want to and only that villager will be gone?

A good trick I read somewhere in TBT a few months back is to wait til a villager asks you to move out, say "no" and then time travel. I did this when I needed to go back to collect the topiary PWP's, but was afraid of losing my villagers. After a while of thinking about it, it finally clicked. Let's say you don't pick up your game for months, then you finally pick it up, your villagers are all still there right?! Unless of course you were unfortunate enough to put the game down before figuring out who was ready to ping. ^.^ Then obviously once a villager is pinging, said villager is one foot out the door already.

Anyways, just wait for a villager to ping, say "no" and then time travel forward. Don't do it day by day though, you'll lose dreamies that way for sure. Just go from point A to point B, and your villagers should all be there.:)

Ps: Didn't read all the comments, just saw someone has already told you this ^.^

TT'ing backwards only counts as one day, doesn't matter how far backwards you go. So unless said villager said they'll be moving in one day, said villager will still be there when you time travel backwards.

Yes, I do this quite often, usually to regrow the grass. Deny a move and TT forward with a big jump. Then I play that day as normal. Because I just wanted grass, I then TT back to the present day, which the game counts as only one day.

Do you want to TT backwards or forward? If you TT to next summer, you need to deny a villager's request to move first. That will prevent villagers from moving out. Just wait until someone asks to move, say no, save your game, and then TT forward.

If you want to go back, any amount of time gone back counts as one day forward so that part won't be a big deal. It'll be more complicated to come back to the present day if you want to do that, though. You'll just have to do what I said above, wait until someone asks to move, say no, save, and then skip forward.

In my experience, a quick way to get someone to ping you is this: if nobody has pinged you on that very day, save your game and quit. Set your 3DS clock several weeks forward and start the game as a new character. When you get the map at the train station, check if anyone is missing. If you want to be extra careful, you can visit the villagers who are at home and see if anyone is in boxes. Don't save your game, just quit without saving. Set your 3DS clock back to what it was when you were playing as your mayor and go find the villager who was missing. They should ping you now. If they don't, talk to them a few times and see if they talk about moving. If not, save and quit, and go talk to them again. If after a few tries they're still not pinging you, TT forward a day and see if that works. Just make sure there are no events coming up on the date you want them to ping you, since they won't do that when there's going to be an event.

Ok, i'll just wait for a moveout ping, say no and TT forward to the date then? Thanks for all of the responces! c:

If it's a villager you don't plan on keeping and you tell them to go ahead and move, they probably won't be gone yet when you TT back. The game will treat that as only one day, and they usually ping you several days in advance of a move. They will still be planning to move though and should be gone in a few days.

Enjoy! This is also a good trick to know if you ever stop playing for a while:)
