Hi, I'm currently wondering if this method is going to work in the situation I am in. I convinced one of my dream villagers, Mathilda, today to come stay in my town from someone else's town. She confirmed she was when I talked to her again. Since her house plot will be appearing tomorrow, is it still possible I can use this method to control where her house goes? I'm wondering about this, since many say that the villager they certainly have coming into their town does not change when they reset. Is this true? I want to know this because I will not be using this method if it even has the slightest risk of me losing Mathilda.

So, the question is: if you convince a villager to move from somebody else's town to your town, and you want to use the villager house placement method, will it still be them every time you reset? Or is there a possibility it's someone different? Thanks for your understanding in advance, since this may be the first time I will do this. :o

It will work just fine. I have already used it to place Fauna in my town (invited from my alt town) and Ed from my campsite.

I always check the plot sign once I've decided just to be sure anyway, but every plot appearing should be Mathilda for you.
Good luck getting her in your dream place tomorrow! I'll be doing the same with Papi. A fun morning of talking to Rover awaits. xP

Yes the villager won't change and it still works.

It will be the villager who you convinced to move in. :)

Okay, thank you all for your replies! I'll be using the method later today when I wake up. :)

Okay...so here I am, and it works! I've got Mathilda in the perfect place....and now the thing is, do I HAVE to build this new character's house? It won't let me save, and I'm sorta disappointed I can't just save at this point and delete my new character, since their house will make a big dirt spot. Help?

You have to get a house for your new character then talk to Isabelle for your TPC then save the game. Delete said character after or keep it, whatever you want. The grass will regrow after a while.

Thanks! Looks like I'll have to deal with the dirt spot...I think, to limit the damage, I'm going to put it where my Cafe will be, do all of those things up until the save point, save, and then delete my character and their house. That way the dirt spot is going to be somewhere where it's going to be mainly covered anyway!

Just plant flowers and trees around the dirt patch to make the grass regrow faster. :>

Haha, it just so happens there's a gigantic flower patch right below where I'm going to place the Cafe. It was almost completely constructed by my villagers and takes sooo much space up. I find it really funny! :D

EDIT: Okay, so now that I have all of that stuff squared away, and everything is saved...I'm not too sure what to do. Where exactly can I go to delete the new character that I made and remove their house? Since, like I said, I placed it right where the Cafe is, the dirt spot won't be a problem. All I need to do is find out how to delete this character and since now I've saved, Mathilda's house plot will still be there after I demolish the character's house, right? ^^

If you've saved, go back into the title screen and select the character you want to to delete. When Isabelle shows up on the screen, choose the second option (I Need Some Help, or something like that). This should open a new set of options, such as changing the time and date. Choose the option "Demolish My House". Isabelle will act shocked and give you a couple chances to back out, but once she demolishes, the character will be gone.

Okay, thanks! I wasn't so sure as to where I would be able to delete this character.
