I currently have 2 threads in the museum also (my art dump and a request thread) and the staff hasn't done anythin about it or merged them so yeah.

As long as it's not a dupe thread that both are still active (ex having 2 art dump threads going on at the same time. You can have an old inactive art dump thread and a current one).
