I have 10 villagers myself and my campsite is empty atm. Some of my friends stopped playing and are thinking about "gifting" me one of their villagers I like.
The question is, what happens when I want to get a boxed villager from my friends town (while I still have my 10 villagers)?

Will that boxed villager move to my campsite? and kick a random person out if I accept him? Or doesn't it work like this at all?
Or is it the same like scanning an Amiibo card that you have to do 3 quests for the villager in 3 days time at the campground, and then decide yourself who will get replaced?

Thanks in advance.

It no longer works like before. In order to invite a villager that is already in boxes, you must have one empty plot in your island first.

Meaning, you have to wait until someone moves out of your village.

Is there a way to force a villager out then (without time traveling) except waiting for one who wants to leave themself?
So having 10 villagers I'm only restricted by using amiibo's or waiting for a random camper to show up or waiting for a villager to leave by him/herself.

Unfortunately, without TTing, you really need to wait until someone decides to move out. And it's entirely random. Ignoring them, hitting them with a net or pushing them to a pitfall really doesn't do anything.

Amiibo is your best approach to get a desired villager quickly.

I wish the game was more like new leaf. I miss the Town Ordinance, Town Tree, Brewsters Cafe and the Police Station and so many other things new leaf had to offer. This really feels like an unfinished product cause I basically did everything already.

I have a 5 star town and a happy home rating over 230k without doing anything special. I don't even have decorated my whole map yet as some websites/guides describe as being necessary for having a 5 star town.
The only thing I'm still waiting for is Nook's Cranny's/museum(art) upgrade which should be any day now and paying off my house.
And waiting for the catalogues of fish/bugs to complete. Its already feeling like a chore.

It took me way over 2 years in new leaf to get everything I wanted and to get a perfect town rating. Some of my friends also feel the same, that's why they are quitting or only logging in when there is a new event.

Except the new villagers, since there aren't (don't know if they will make them, but I doubt it) Amiibo cards of them. I own every Amiibo card available so thats not a problem.
Sherb was my 6th villager, but I would love to meet some other new ones as well, and waiting for them to show up on the campground might take ages, and even then I won't be able to decide who gets to move out..
We do share the same starter however, I like Deidre a lot!
