question about notifications

I often wonder why this website doesn't have a notification sound? especially for private messages
I am on my laptop a lot, but I often see my messages late because I just forget to check/reload the forum ):

is this a feature that could be added? I and I think many others would appreciate it!
also, if there are people that would be annoyed by the sound, maybe the option to turn it off should be added

I'd like notification sounds at some point too! Usually I leave on email notifications, which will come up with a notification on my phone! I always do this while trading. Otherwise I'm positive I'd always miss messages here too.

Agreed, I'd love it if we could get notifications on our phones even, as I'm usually on my phone

that's a great idea! I guess I'll do that for now too, but I don't like my mailbox being flooded ):
I would really prefer just a pop-up sound from the website itself, like on nookazon or turnip exchange
(I prefer TBT over both, but I do think it's a nice feature)

Beyond just a notification sound, I'd actually like a popup notification on my desktop, similar to when you get a message on Discord or something.

I don't know if the forum software actually supports these features, but it'd be nice, I suppose.
