Question about making new file?

I'm sorry if it's already been posted before im just dumb when it comes to this i guess, the thing is i wanna start a new town, but right after the first day i won't be playing for like a month. and you know how when you're the new mayour, a villager moves in every other day till it the 9th/10th moves in.

But my question here is when i make the town, can i like write down the date of which i stopped and after a month ill set the system time back to a day after the last day i played? will that count only as one day since i stopped or when i come back all the villagers would be already moved in by now?

If after this month you'll change the date to the same day that you started on it'll be like you never stopped playing. My question is - why don't you just start the new file when you'll actually be able to play?

if you go back to the day you last played, it'll be like you never stopped playing in the first place.


but as Inka said, why not just create the new save file when you're able to play?

I know! but like i was resetting for a long time and just found the perf layout after prob 100s of resets and i dont wanna do that again

I'm pretty sure no matter how long you're gone, only one villager can move in? Like you can't start up the game and have two new villagers you've never heard of beforehand.

Ah, that's understandable
Yeah, just write down the date you played last and the next time you'll play change the date during the loading screen when Isabelle talks

Use the 3DS clock and everything will be ok. It will be like if you didnt miss a day at all.

Don't use the 3ds clock if you play any other game that uses it (eg Pokemon, other AC) or it will mess it up. The in game clock is perfectly fine.
