Question about Inviting Island Villagers?

So today I unlocked the ability to buy and place plots for villagers to move into, and went on some island tours in search of villagers to invite. I invited Coco to my island, built another plot, and then went on two more tours but both islands had no villagers on them. can you only invite one villager back a day even with open plots?

I believe that is the case. The game doesn't want you to end up with a huge long queue of villagers waiting to move in, so you can only do one per day

not us posting a relevant thread at the same time haha. anyway i think you can only invite 1 a day from then on.

i know the game is new, but i hope a guide comes out that is detailed regarding acquiring villagers in new horizons. because i feel like people have questions regarding these everyday.
