question about getting furniture from trees

Hi! I've been wondering about something:

Everyday I can collect 2 furniture items from shaking the trees. For a little while I had less trees then I have now,
and at the time (for about a week) I could only find 1 furniture item. After adding more trees (the money trees once they had given their bells)
I could find 2 items again. I actually want to remove some trees again, but I don't want to lose the second furniture gift.

Now my question is: do any of you have a low number of trees, but are still able to get 2 furniture items?

I have a ton of trees and, even though I don't shake them often anymore, back when I did, it's was hard to find even 1 piece of furniture there. The good thing about them is that you can get different colors than the ones you'll find at your store.

I had more luck finding furniture from shaking trees on mystery islands than I had in my own island.

(I just counted them and I currently have 48 trees.. tht's more then I thought tbh lol, not including fruit trees, bamboo or palm trees)
I would like to remove like 10 trees, but I'm just not sure if I'll still find the second item then

I have many, many trees. I honestly lost count of how many I have, but I know it's not 220+, otherwise Isabelle would have said something about it. Most of my trees are either cedars or fruit trees. As I've said, I don't shake them regularly anymore, so it's been a while since I last got a furniture piece from a tree.

I have a good number of trees but I actually chopped many just to make it easier for me to keep track of where everything is.
I shake them daily and can get 2 furniture items every time.
I'm not sure if a very low number of trees will prevent the 2nd furniture item from spawning but it's possible - haven't actually tested it though but I might in the future as I want to get rid of some more trees soon.
Fruit trees won't give you furniture items though.

I have exactly 7 normal trees on my island. I get 5 wasp nests and 2 furniture pieces every day. You need at least 7 trees to guarantee to get both furniture pieces.

that's great to know, thank you!! now I can remove trees in peace lol

now I'm not sure why I couldn't find the second item for a week long,
maybe I had a tree somewhere I forgot about back then.. but I do always find my 2 items now, so weird!

I have enough trees for Isabelle to complain about it, and I haven't found a single item of furniture in the past three days of shaking every one!

All I can think is that the furniture is spawning in the 4 or 5 trees I have surrounded on all sides by flowers each time, which would be very unlucky!

ahh I actually have trees surrounded by flowers too! what I did to prevent losing items is place a costum path
(like a little flower pattern) in front of the tree, that way there's space for anything to fall and it also looks cute ^^

That's a neat idea!

My trees that are surrounded are simply because I did some terraforming last weekend and had to move a bunch of flowers to make space for what I wanted to do, so they all ended up bunched together in a couple of unfinished areas of my island.

I really need to move either find a use for them or get rid, to be honest.
