Ok, laugh away, but I gotta know. How do you cycle are you just going through the games without doing anything, or are you growing your towns also? I am stumped by this, and I see all these cycling threads and I am wondering how they get their villagers out so fast. I have 3 in my town I want gone and I can't get them out, but I don't want to time travel. So if I buy a new game to do this do I just go from day to day, without interacting with my critters?

Thank you all,
Crystalrose

I'm a cycler, and I'll do my best to answer your questions. :)

Most cyclers don't bother to grow their towns, no. You essentially just time travel constantly to get the villagers out and in as quickly and efficiently as possible, so while you could take the time to build an ideal town in theory, it'd be rather counterintuitive to do so. As far as how most cyclers get their villagers to move out so quickly, there's a popular cycling method known as the three saves method that expedites things considerably. I personally use a different method that I'm more than happy to share with you, but it also involves a great deal of time travel. The only way to get rid of your unwanted villagers quicker than waiting for the eventual ping is to time travel, unfortunately enough.

If you do decide to pick up another copy of ACNL with the intent of creating a cycling town, I'm more than happy to answer any questions you might have or to help you get started. Hopefully I was able to help somewhat, and good luck with your (potential) future cycling endeavors. ^_^

If she didn't tell you the exact method, it's TT 1 year, then 1 year again, then 5 days. That will get a random villager in boxes. Of course, I'm not a cycler, and all I've seen is very positive feedback on a thread detailing this.

I linked it. :)

Most cycling methods involve TTing, so people who cycle intensely don't tend to bother making their towns perfect since that'd be pointless due to all the villagers coming and going and setting down their houses all over, and the amount of weeds you can end up getting from TTing. I think most people who cycle have a spare copy of the game that they use for that purpose or at least they cycle until they obtain all the villagers they want and then set to working on their town.

My second town started off as a pure cycling town, but it's turned into a more second-main town. That being said, I still consider it my "cycling town." I don't cycle the way real cyclers do, but in my MAIN town, I refuse to TT. In my cycling town, I TT all the time to get people into boxes/to move out. It's just not the ONLY point of that town - I build PWP's, collect different dreamies, build up my museum, etc.

I've considered getting a third copy to be a REAL cycling town, but it's just not necessary at this point yet.
