Question about cycling towns!

im interested in making a cycling town, but i only have one 3ds
i use a digital copy for my main game so i was planning to buy a cartridge for my cycling town
would the FC be the same? if it is, is that a problem or no? i know i wouldnt be able to transfer villagers to myself but thats fine, the cycling town is for friends/selling/giveaways, etc

Yes, the FC would be the same and this is exactly how I did it.
My Main is the Digital
My Cycling is the Physical.

It will be the Same FC because of the Same 3DS. I wouldn't say it be a problem. It wasn't for me.
