I've recently started playing again after a long time and I used to cycle and am now trying to again. Besides having a cycling town, I also traded/sold villagers and tried to get specific ones out a lot. I always used the two day method. I have noticed that everyone considers it outdated now and I am kind of surprised. Not that people think it's bad (because it certainly was not easy), but that there doesn't really seem to be a great replacement.

The only other guide I can find basically says, when you have 9 villagers TT forward a day at a time and talk to your villager best friend. I don't really see how this is faster or innovative. Or safe, for that matter. Villagers are not reliable enough to tell you every time if someone is moving.

For the TT two day method, I don't understand why people are saying it's broken (basically). Although I faced the problem of *finding* the villager who was moving, and had several accidental move outs of very important villagers, someone always did want to move. So what's the deal? Please update me and educate me! :)

If you haven't seen THIS thread created by Crash, I suggest you do. I have found it very helpful in my own cycling town. And she does a lovely job of breaking it down so it's easy to understand and pretty hard to mess up the process. Although I must confess I have done so already, I was cycling between dates and watching a TV show at the same time, I accidentally TT'd to the wrong year :( but after TTing day by day for almost a month (in game) just found my new cycling date. Also, on the day the villager is in boxes, Isabelle will let you know they're leaving the next day (will be gone from your town).

But definitely check out the thread linked above for more in depth information.

Thank you! Yes I did used to use that in my cycling but I mean in your regular town if you want a specific villager out!

Hm, for that I don't have much information on- as I am also trying to move out some villagers from my town and have TT'ed day by day with no pings for close to 3 weeks in game (I have 3 game cartridges, one main town, one second and one cycling). I also have to admit of TTing more than a day at a time because the last time I did so (I TT'ed 3 days), I lost Lolly. I'm going to just stick around this thread and see what the other members who have much more experience on this have to say.

LET THE TEACHING BEGIN.

I lost Ankha trying to TT around too RIP the list of TTing casualties grows everyday smh

oh my gosh THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME.... I was so torn :(

I'm currently cycling through 16 villagers so I can get her back D: I have an Ankha waiting for me in my other village and I'm soooo close!!! 15/16 through, only one more to go!

I never go more than one day at a time now in my main village... Too many cuties that have been sacrificed to the void...

at least you didn't lose three of your dreamies like i did...but i'm staying strong. if i can cycle out enough villagers to get all three back, i'm sure you can too! c:

My tt tactics consist of this: I go forward five days, wait until someone pings, save and then tt back five days and repeat over and over again. I haven't lost any villagers HOWEVER, I do not advocate anyone follow my advice, lol. It is just what works for me and how I feel comfortable. If you are cycling, I wholly recommend Crashes thread that I see has already been posted here. She is the be all, end all of cycling, the goddess of wisdom :)

Why does someone ping after five days? :0 And isn't going forward 5 back 5 the equivalent of forward 2 back 2? Or is it different? And same, I don't advocate for my method either it's kinda risky lol. But it's always worked for me.
