Question About Creature Spawning!

Tomorrow is the day I've been waiting for... the day I will finally be able to complete my Diving Encyclopedia! I only need the Spiny Lobster in order to complete this thing once and for all... and it can be found starting September 15th!

Now I have a question: since the Spiny Lobster is available from 9pm to 4am, would I be able to find one tonight after midnight? Since technically after midnight it will be September 15th and between the time of 9pm to 4am. Or is it that new creatures only begin spawning after 6am that day? Meaning that I could only find one tomorrow?

Was just wondering because if I could knock this out tonight that would be awesome.

Omg I've been looking for the Spiny Lobster too! (my clock is just a few days ahead) I've been searching for houuurrrs though, and I'm sure I almost caught it a few times except the darn thing narrowly escaped under the buoys. >:| Good luck!

The wikia says they start on the 16th. Anyway, I would disagree with the first response. The creatures become available the day they are scheduled to as soon as it turns midnight. I was closing in on the finish of my encyclopedia in Mirage for the past couple of months, and I always started looking for and finding stuff when the calender turned over to the first of the month, without having to pass 6am first. For example, two of the last bugs I needed were the bell cricket and the red dragonfly. I found the bell cricket soon after the clock struck midnight. I had to wait until daylight for the red dragonfly, though, since they don't come out at night.

Edit: Nookipedia says the 15th, so maybe I'll go diving in Alpine for my last two creatures.

while the day changes, the day doesn't "cycle" until 6am.


it's very confusing but you don't have to wait until 9pm on the night of the 15th to catch one.
it can be caught on the 15th from 12am to 4am, and from 9pm to 11:59pm
