Question about bushes. Is this possible?

A villager moved in where I was planning to put the park just last month but I need an open rectangular shape for the park so I'll just plop it anyway next to his house, as there's still a lot of space. I'm planning to put bushes to separate it though. I'm awful at planning where to put bushes, I know not to put it next to a pwp but I keep forgetting (also, can you put bushes next to rocks?)

As long as there’s 1 space in between for bushes, they can grow. So according to your diagram, it should be alright.
Also, bushes cannot be placed directly next to rocks. They need 1 space between them.

I've had it with these rocks. Also got a rock in front of my town hall where I'm supposed to put bushes--guess I have to re-plan.

The one's right next to the pole thing and the rock can be replace by flowers, but the rest of your spaces should work.

Put something like a white or grey pattern beside the rock or any white flower (like what you did on the right side) to make it a little less pronounced.

There actually used to be a flower where the holes are, but this area, I don't really love much. The clock is just awkwardly next to the river & I can't do much with it because it's a 5x3 tile next to the stinkin town plaza. Hoping I unlock better clocks soon.

The modern clock (requested by snooty villagers) or fairy-tale clock (peppy) would probably look good in that area and with the paths you're using.
