Scenario: A person visits to adopt one of our villagers and they have not cleared their void beforehand. On that same day, you invite a camper to move-in and they accept your invitation. Does the camper then cancel out the potential for a voided villager to move into your town?

I'm pretty sure it does. I think I read somewhere that the game favors game-generated villagers over villagers from someone else's town but I'm not sure how true that is, so don't quote me lol.

Yes! It does. If they successfully agreed to move in, and you saved your game, the villager you invited will be the one to move in. An invite always trumps a void. Unless there was a saving issue of some sort, but I doubt it.
