Question about amiibo villagers...

Ok so I just moved out an amiibo with another amiibo. Given that it is still the same day and the plot won't turn up until tomorrow, would it be possible for me to ask someone else to move in before the plot shows up and they move in instead? I've done it before with normal villagers by accident when I asked two villagers to move in on the same day and only the lastest one did. Not sure if the same applies with amiibos. Thanks!

I've had just the last asked showed and once when I asked 2 to move in, nobody showed up for two days, you can try, I'm not sure that there's a hard and fast answer.
