Question about adoptions

I'm so sad...my cartridge ejected after I visited another town to adopt Molly...now I'm wondering if the adoption is voided. Does anyone know?

Did you leave the town after asking before the cartridge ejected?

If after you convinced her to move in and at some point the game saved (either the host saved or leaving by train). If this occured, Molly will move in.
If the game did not save after you've convinced her to move in, you will have to go back and talk to her again.

Edit: Adding to what I said, you can still go back and adopt her. She is not voided by your cartridge popping out.

So basically if you didn't leave the town successfully or the host didn't save right than, then Molly is still in boxes on her side
