Question about a villagers clothes?

Marshal changes his adorable denim jacket to some ugly design an unwanted villager gave him >:l I'm aware of the tedious process to get his original vest back on him (sending it loads of times ect) but what I'm wondering is what exactly is the name of his shirt? All the sites I went on say that he initially wears the Denim Jacket.

So I went to my catalog and the Denim Jacket was this:



Now I'm almost certain that he cannot wear this because the villagers can only wear short sleeved shirt or tanks if I'm not mistaken? Or something along those lines.

Then the Denim Vest came up and looks like this:



This IS a tank but I think it's ugly and it doesn't even look like Marshal original clothing, Marshal's jacket is buttoned up.

So I'm just wondering what the exact name is for his clothes or even where I may find it? I'm so desperate to get him out of the horrible shirt he's currently in. D:

The villagers can wear any shirt or pattern, regardless of the sleeve length. They'll just always appear as tank tops on their bodies.

So yes, his original shirt is the denim jacket

I'm pretty sure, the first picture is the one he wears. Villagers can't have sleeves so they won't appear when he has it on.

Also: in my experience the villager will usually change into a shirt you want if you send just two of them in the mail. I've only had to send more then two once or twice, and I've changed my villager's shirts quite a lot.

The only thing I was worried about that though was if I sent both at the same time could there be a chance he'd put both of them into his room? D:

I was able to send Bella her original shirt just once and she put it on right away. If they put it in their room just visit them and ask to buy it back when you get the chance.

In my experience anyway, villagers never put two of the same item (including clothes) into their house at the same time. So he'd probably put one in there and ideally he'd wear the other one.

make a letter and attach the clothes to the letter. wit till 4:58pm and save. send the letter.

wait till 5pm, go check your villager. if they are wearing it, you're done! save and carry on with your day

if they are not wearing it, quit w/o saving and repeat the process until they use it. no need to send multiple clothes and have their houses full of clothing

Ah, this is a great method!! I use this to put specific furniture in their houses.
