QR Codes

Hey! Hopefully, this is the right place to post.

How do QR Codes work? I've figured out how to scan them! But, whenever I try to scan something with it, it says it's not supported. I've tied it on the QR codes I've found on the forums *such as the ones in Able Sisters section). Is that the problem? Thanks!

Errr, how did you scan them? With a regular QR code app? Because that is not the right way. True ACNL QR codes need to be scanned at the Able Sisters' once you unlock the ... giant sewing machine.
